On The Wing

Directed by: Daniel Cespedes

USA, 2020, RT: 4:18

Some seabirds travel across oceans and have enormous wingspans, others are so small, swift, and particular in their nesting habits that they remain relatively elusive to humans. The marbled murrelet is a small seabird of the Pacific Northwest that forages in the coastal ocean and nests in old-growth forest, which nicely reflects the mission of the Marine Studies Initiative to connect land and sea. Oregon State University researchers work tirelessly along the Oregon coast to track their nests and understand their foraging habits to better inform management practices of this endangered species.

But soon, we may find ourselves facing the unimaginable: humans will exhaust the inexhaustible!
